DEEJAYING. A Lost Artform?
While headed to a meeting, iQ came across three advertisement flyers for some parties for the upcoming weekend. We searched for the Who, What, Where, and When: The venues were listed (Savoy, etc, etc) and the date and time (10pm-until Friday and Saturday) were printed in bold . The required age was creatively listed to easily identify ('18 to come, 21 to swallow'). all of the information party-goers need to attend the event was on the flyers in large letters, assorted colors, and noticeable fonts styles. However, iQ found one piece of information missing on all three of the flyers. Can you guess what it is? Who will be providing the music? Dj Drama? Dj Quick? Kid Capri?
"Don't worry I'll wait," as comedian Katt Williams would say.
Obviously, the art of deejaying has been neglected. Once the center of hip-hop and the foundation of any great party, deejays are now placed either in an elevated dark booth or dark corner off-set from the stage.
iQ commends all the deejays thriving to gain hip-hop reparations. You are why parties, concerts, weddings, and every other celebratory event are remembered. If you are a deejay and would like to discuss ways to preserve the art of deejaying, tune into the next edition of iQdvdMag.
